In recent years students of UC have wanted the name of McMicken hall changed. The student government passed a resolution in 2018 asking the university to remove the name from the College of Arts & Sciences.

McMicken donated $1 million worth of land to the city of Cincinnati to develop a college in the 1800s. McMicken had been a racist, bad person while alive. His intentions with his college was to educate, “white boys and girls,” and only those people.

Today that the students will be happy to know that there will soon be a name change. Today University students received an email stating the change.
