1922 Industrial Survey of Alvin Morrison

"Alvin was not home when I called there, as he was working with his team on the irrigation ditch. He is 1/2 white, has a Patent-in-Fee for his own land, which has either been sold or mortgaged. He lives on inherited and family land belonging to his wife's people. They do just moderately well. He and his wife are both rather above the average in intelligence and have some education. They should make better use of their land and of their opportunities. They have an automobile, which requires a good deal of money that should be used for providing a better home. Their house is poor and rather poorly kept, but they are not able to sacrifice the use of an automobile for such common things as paint and paper or better shelter for their horses. They do manage to make most of their living for the family and we believe that under the pressure of necessity, they will do more farming and make better use of their funds."
