"This man is now a policeman and probably put on the force because he had proven that he was not good for anything else. He has a good place, but he does not stay at home and will not work. He did put up a little hay this summer with a neighbor. He has really no home at all. Has a poor cabin down near the mission where he lives through the winter, camping elsewhere through the summer. Some of his children attend the Catholic Mission School. This is made an excuse for his living at this place."
