1922 Industrial Survey of George Lande

"This boy is a brother of Henry Dewey Lande, on whom report was made. He was reared by a very industrious white father and they made a very good living, mostly with their cattle, and have but a limited amount of land suitable for farming. They have some that could be used for dry farming for grain. Very little could be irrigated if any. This boy is a very good worker, but so far, has not really settled down to farm. He was but recently married. He has liked the rattle of spurs better than the noise made by the plow and he has acquired more skill in riding bucking horses, than in riding a mowing machine. He is practically white and with the land they will have, should be able to make a good living and I doubt if there is any particular reason why the Government should worry much about him, as he is essentially a white man and should know enough to know that if he does not work, he is liable to not eat."
