1922 Industrial Survey of Little Owl

"We regard Little Owl as one of the best among the Indians. He has a very good frame house as will be seen by the photograph. He has a comfortable stable, a well, out buildings, in fact, his place looks quite like a farm. His two boys had been very good farmers. One of them is now disqualified by a failing in his health. He cannot possibly live very long. The other boy uses the Fordson and seems to take quite an interest in his farming and accomplishes considerably more than he could with a team. Their house is quite comfortably furnished and compares quite well with an ordinary farm house. It is moderately well kept. They seem to live at home practically all the time and not to have very many people camping or living with them. We urged them to get a milk cow and chickens of their own in order to have proper food for this afflicted son. They had one cow there, but need another one and they have the means to buy it and express their intention of getting the cow and chickens very soon."
