1922 Industrial Survey of Old Rabbit

"Old Rabbit has no wife. His son-in-law has been living with him. They seem not to agree very well as to the crops. This year they are not putting in any grain, they have been working their teams on the road. They are building a new house and barn from their own funds. They have an excellent place that could be made a very productive farm if they worked together properly. The old man needs his daughter there to keep house for them and there is land enough for both the men to work, but they each seem to be afraid that the other will get more than his share of the proceeds."
