Summary:
In 1922, the Crow Indian Agent surveyed 244 Crow properties, including the home of White Hip.Description:
Caution: This survey transcription contains prejudiced descriptions and may contain violent language.
Transcription:
"White Hip was in the field mowing when I called at his house and I could not get across the creek. He is reported to be a very good farmer, remaining at home and attending to his business better than the average. Just now he was living in camp, which is probably more comfortable than the house, as the house has little shade about it. They make some 80 ton hay and should, this year, have a considerable quantity of grain to sell. Augustine Grey Bull, a brother or half-brother works with White Hip a partner. It seems that their stock and implements are really owned in common, though they live in separate homes."
