"It seems his own land, including his house, is leased and he is living around with his friends, helping them with their farming for a part of the crop. He lives in the house with Small, also works with Goes Among The Enemy, a very unsatisfactory arrangement, and if his house and home farm are leased, it was a mistake. I am now looking into the condition of the lease, as I do not believe it covers all of his farm land and I doubt if it includes his house. If we find that the condition, we will certainly not renew such a lease and may find it advisable to cancel it. He has a fair farming outfit in the way of implements. He has a good spring near his house and should be living to himself and farm his own place."
