"These are just 2 old people with one small foster child, about 5 years old. They live alone, they stay at their own place, and they do not entertain sundry relatives. While their house was one large room, it was neat and clean. It was really better than 2 smaller rooms that would not be so well ventilated. His implements were better taken care of than many of the young people's. He had a fair stable. He had a considerable hay stack and I was informed that he and his wife put the hay up alone. I consider that he was setting a very good example for many of the younger men who have a better opportunity than he had. In addition to what he uses himself, he has some land leased, from which he derives a limited income."
