Butler County Courthouse mid frame, cloudy day, surrounded by trees and cars
The Butler County Courthouse, built in 1885

The Courthouse can be seen right as you enter the main part of the city of Hamilton and is the landmark of main street; it is home to many trials and school field trips. There were two previous built prior to the third standing today, all same location. The first was built in 1810, the second in 1817, and the third in 1885. The courthouse has been through several cosmetic alterations, survived fire, flood, and many storms.

Not so fun fact: the courthouse was also a temporary morgue when more than 200 people died in the area in the 1913 flood, March 25-26.
