Over the weekend I saw the statue of William Howard Taft on campus and while it is so close to us I think it is a very good depiction of UC history because this is where he went to get his law degree. The statue is well constructed and in a good location right in front of the law school. The fact that it exists reminds us students that a former president went to UC and that we should be proud of that fact. While it isn’t in the most prominent spot on campus I think that is a good thing because it is the law school he went to and having it anywhere else would be wrong.
