This “horizontal I.D” – something Hannah so desperately yearned for as a teenager – is still one of her most cherished items today as an adult. It represents her journey not only from childhood to adulthood, but the many places it has allowed her to travel both international and domestic. These locations include Georgia (the state of issue) and her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, where she recently returned. But it also includes more exotic places like Jamaica, Mexico, and Greece. As a wide-eyed youth, she wanted her license for entry into bars, clubs and other nightlife establishments intended for the 21+ crowd. Now, it serves as much more.
