Boxed Jambalaya

The image is fuzzy. Even Tony Cachere couldn’t be bothered with a high-resolution image. This is a metaphor for the state of the world.

Here it is. The first quarantine recipe. Original date: 03/16/2020

Step 1: You take the box, and you follow the instructions. If you’re vegetarian, you ignore the fact that the bullion is actually chicken based. St. Peter will understand. If you’re not vegetarian, you’re going to hate the next step.

Step 2: Chop up some vegan chorizo. A whole pound is good. That’s four protein sticks if you’re counting. Put it in the pot of boiling rice mix.

Step 3: Chop up some peppers and onions. Ration them. You’ll need the rest for other dishes. Sauté what you need. A handful is a good guess.

Step 4: Mix it all together.

Step 5: Eat it. The leftovers last for about a week. Anjali finished them yesterday and didn’t die.
