Bridges: Linking History from Region to Region

Louisville, Kentucky is a growing and vibrant city located next to the Ohio River. In addition to the growing aspects of Kentucky, many bridges were constructed to accommodate the commerce industry.  In 1888 the Big Four Bridge began construction and was seen to fruition in 1895. The creation of this bridge has seen many trials and fatalities but in the end, construction efforts persevered. The Big Four Bridge has become a site that brings pride to many Louisville natives.
