Carillon Park

This park was created in 1950 and named after Colonel Edward Andrew Deeds and his wife Edith. Edith was a musician and wanted to showcase her inspiration for carillon music to her community, which she did with the Deeds Carillon, a musical tower that puts on concerts for the people. Colonel was an inventor and industrialist that helped bring the world’s transportation into the 20th century. Under his guidance the liberty engine was built. It also contains several more museums and information on the history of transportation. The park’s purpose was to showcase what Dayton, Ohio contributed to the world.
