The Underground Railroad made a stop in Ross, Ohio according to oral traditions in my hometown.  This house is on the historic register and was owned by the family of one of my high school classmates.  I was fortunate during visits as a teenager to be shown some of the secret rooms and passages.  Most memorable was the attic where there were hiding places that had inlayed, laminate game boards on the floor.  I always imagined these games bringing a little bit of joy during frightening times.  It is also said Harriet Tubman once visited the house herself.
