Norwood Mound

The Norwood Mound is an Native American earthwork that is located within a neighborhood in Norwood, Ohio. Mounds were used as a burial site for the Natives to be buried within where they would be clumped and held together once buried, some mounds would include temples on top but is rarely done.

The mound was believed to be built pre-Columbian Era in which it is determined to be a very historic site. The neighborhood around the mound was built in 1869 where they have preserved and taken care of the site. Since then, artifacts around the area in which the mound was built have been uncovered and added to the Cincinnati Museum Center as a result.
