Public History – The Head Banging Home of General John T. Thompson

Public History is truly around every corner! Just across the river from Cincinnati, the home of the late Brigadier General John T. Thompson, inventor of the world famous “Tommy” M1921 Thompson Submachine gun, has taken on a new life but not without recognition of its past. Newport Kentucky’s Thompson House music venue has become a favourite spot for EDM and Bass artists in the Midwest. While attending a concert, it’s nearly impossible to miss Kentucky’s historical marker #1706 (https://tinyurl.com/y4mgjz8e) as you climb the grand entrance stair case into one of the regions most unique historic venues
