This stuffed animal lamb was a gift from one little girl’s grandmother in 2009. It quickly became her beloved comfort item. Comfort items like Lamby can provide a sense of security and familiarity for young children. It can make them feel safe and calm in situations. Having a comfort item like Lamby can also contribute to children’s brain development. It can aid social and emotional development for children, teach problem-solving skills, improve sensory processing abilities, creativity, and hand eye coordination. We all have one item like Lamby that is important to us: blankets, toys, stuffed animals, or even items passed down from generation to generation.
This object is part of the “Transitions” section of the Artifacts of Experience exhibition designed by University of Cincinnati students in the “Introduction to Public History” course in 2023.
We encourage you to explore the other objects in our collection.
