A Chapel fit for the Dead

Picture of the mausoleum from an upward angle

Built in 1866, the Dexter Mausoleum is built in a Gothic style, taking inspiration from English and French chapels. It is the only funerary monument to have flying buttresses in Ohio, possibly all of the US. It is a family mausoleum, belonging to the Dexters who made Kentucky bourbon. It was never completed due to financial issues. It is rumored to be haunted, that the legends say if you sit on the steps of the mausoleum that a pair of white hounds will appear, who apparently guard the mausoleum.
