Sitting with Charles W. West

In the late 1800s, Charles W. West made a $150,000 donation to the Cincinnati Art Museum. His contributions made him one of the original co-founders. He made most of his money as a flour mill operator. Today, he rests peacefully at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. On top of this large monument is a statue of Mr. West watching over the back end of the cemetery. He’s located on the outskirts of Geyser Lake. He was born on August 7, 1810, and died September 21, 1884. To learn more about Charles W. West or Spring Grove Cemetery, click here.
