Spring Grove Cemetery was established as a non-profit cemetery in 1845. Spring Grove is the second largest cemetery in the United States. There are over 220,000 people buried at the historic sight. Much of the architecture was German which reminded me a lot of my German heritage. What fascinated me the most were the Mausoleums, especially the Dexter and Robinson Mausoleums. The Dexter Mausoleum was built in 1869 and is registered a historic landmark. Robinson Mausoleum was built in 1874 and was a $35,000 to build. The overall experience was great and I learned a lot about the historic cemetery.
