McMicken College was originally located on Charles McMicken’s estate, which he left to the University after his death. The original McMicken Hall was the first building at the current location of the University of Cincinnati, construction having been completed in 1895. The building we know now was built in the same spot in 1940.

This hall is the centerpiece of campus.  But there are many rumors around the history of this building. Most students on campus believe that it was an old high school. I thought it was an old high school until I started looking up the history of the building.
