Welcome to the historic Spring Grove Cemetery! As the nations third largest cemetery, it serves as the final resting place of both influential figures of industry and politics as well as some of Cincinnati’s most fascinating pieces of architecture, each holding more history than the last. The rolling hills are spotted with examples of neoclassical stone work and soaring figures of iron. A prime instance of the cemetery’s architectural significance is The Sentinel. Crafted by Ferd Miller of Munich, Germany in 1855, the beautiful Union soldier stands with his bayonet dawned and rifle in a resting position.
